Many dog breeds require daily grooming and some can do with once a week grooming routine. Bathing your dog is also an important part of dog care and every dog needs a bath few times in a year or week or months depending on the breed. Dogs can be given cooked vegetable and fruits except raisins and grapes as they are toxic in nature. Milk should be given in limited quantity as excess can cause diarrhea.

A dog should be fed with one or two meals a day except in case of medical requirements. Feeding some canned food helps the dog by supplying nutrients in right quantity as it contains more dog protein. Commercial food should be supplemented with organic meats and steamed or finely grated vegetables. They can also be given cooked grains and tofu. Other supplements like acidophilus, digestive enzymes and Vitamin E and C are must when a dog is being fed with commercial food.

Giving dog home made food is important as it helps in controlling the quality of ingredients and generally quality of contents in commercial and canned food is not too good. They are many books and websites which can help with some nice dog recipes for your dog. One or two home made meals a week is better than feeding the dog on commercial food purely.
